Terms & conditions

The rules, written down

This is a working draft, not a reviewed legal document. It states the same rules already published in OpenSet’s deal memo and How It Works page, in contract-style language. It has not yet been reviewed by a UAE lawyer, and nothing here is legal or financial advice. Do not treat it as binding until that review is complete.

1. Who runs this

OpenSet is operated by Anqor Studios LLC FZ, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“Anqor,” “we”). These terms apply to anyone who applies to, contributes to, or is listed as a sponsor on a project run through OpenSet (“you,” a “Contributor”).

2. Applying is not joining

Submitting an application does not guarantee a role on a project. Each project sets its own headcount and runs its own vetting step (portfolio, self-tape, reference, or interview review) before accepting anyone. Anqor may decline an application without stating a reason.

3. What a contribution earns

Accepted Contributors earn points under the rules published on the How It Works page for the specific project they join: role band, in-kind conversion rate, individual and in-kind caps, and vesting all apply as published there at the time the work is performed. That page, not this one, is the source of the current numbers.

4. No guaranteed payout

A project may earn little or nothing. Points represent a share of whatever a project actually earns, paid out quarterly above a minimum distribution threshold. Never a fixed wage, a salary, or a guaranteed return. Anqor does not promise a platform acquisition, a distribution deal, or any specific revenue outcome for any project.

5. This is not an investment offer

Nothing on OpenSet is an offer to sell a security. OpenSet does not currently accept cash in exchange for a share of profit (an “Executive Producer” or similar tier); that option is on hold pending its own legal review and, if it launches, will be governed by a separate agreement. Paid sponsorship (a sponsor paying for exposure or integration on a specific project, with no share of profit or points in return) is a separate, ordinary commercial arrangement and is not covered by this clause.

6. Eligibility

You must be legally permitted to perform the work you apply for, including any UAE work-authorization requirement that applies to on-set roles. Anqor may ask for evidence of eligibility before confirming a role.

7. Releases and consent

Appearing on camera, in any format, requires a signed release before your footage is used. Formats built around real people and real personal disclosure (rather than a fictional performance) require a separate, stronger consent process. You’ll be told which applies before you are asked to sign anything.

8. Intellectual property

Scripts, format bibles, and platform content remain Anqor’s property. Material you submit to apply (a self-tape, a portfolio, photos of a location or equipment) is used only to evaluate your application and, if accepted, to represent your contribution on the project unless you agree otherwise in writing.

9. Changes to these terms

The numeric rules behind the points system (split ratios, band multipliers, the in-kind rate, caps, vesting terms) can change for future work, but never retroactively. A rate change is recorded with an effective date, and work already performed keeps the rate that applied when it was done. We’ll note material changes to these terms on this page.

10. Governing law

Placeholder: to be set by counsel These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. The specific applicable framework (onshore, free zone, or DIFC) has not yet been confirmed and will be set once this document receives legal review.

Questions about these terms: reach Anqor Studios directly. Contact details will be published here alongside the reviewed version.
