The deal, in full

How the share works

This is the actual math, not a summary of it. Money from a project moves through four stages, in this order, before anyone sees a profit split. Nothing at a later stage is paid until the stage above it is fully satisfied.

  1. 1

    Hard cost recoupment

Verified, receipted, out-of-pocket spend: rentals, permits, insurance, food, hosting. Repaid 1:1 to whoever paid it.

  2. 2

    Capital recoupment

Cash investors receive 120% of what they put in, pro-rata to their share of total cash invested.

  3. 3

    Profit pool

    Everything remaining splits in two:

Capital pool: 50%

To cash investors, pro-rata by amount. Collapses fully into the contribution pool on a project that raised no outside cash.

Contribution pool: 50%

To everyone holding points: crew, cast, locations, gear, sponsorship sourcing. Split further below.

Inside the contribution pool

25%

Anqor originator block: scripts, platform, legal, distribution effort. Same cap as everyone else applies to this role too.

75%

Divided by points, published on the public ledger.

Points aren’t capped

There’s no fixed pool of 100 points. Everyone earns points; your share is your points divided by the total points issued on that project. 1 point = one 10-hour shoot day at the base rate. Everything else is a multiple of that.

A3.0×Director · Lead Actor · Director of Photography · Showrunner
B2.0×Supporting Actor · Editor · 1st AD · Line Producer · Composer
C1.0×Camera · Sound · Gaffer · Grip · HMU · Colourist · VFX
D0.5×PA · Runner · Extra · Social

Prep days count at half the role’s rate. Post days (editor, colourist, composer, VFX) count at full rate, capped at the contracted day count, so a post role can’t silently mint points without limit.

Equipment, locations, and services

1 point per AED 1,000 of verified value saved: a published rate card or two independent written quotes, not a self-declared number. Priced the same way regardless of who supplies it, including Anqor personnel. Capped at 25% of a project’s total points, across every in-kind contributor combined.

The cap applies to the founder too

No single person may hold more than 15% of a project’s points, 20% for a top-band role. That includes Anqor’s principal, even when stacking multiple roles on the same project (originator, equipment supplier, director). There is no disclosed or undisclosed exception. If the cap proves too tight in practice, the lever is raising the 25% originator block, out in the open. It's not carving out an individual on the ledger.

Vesting

Points only vest as committed days are actually completed.
